Rev. Beth O’Callaghan became the 2nd Rector of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in May, 2017. From 2012-2017, she served as Rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY. Prior to St. Mary’s, Rev. Beth served as the Assistant Rector at Ascension in Gaithersburg.

Rev. Beth received her Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2009, was ordained a deacon in 2009 and a priest in 2010. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Maryland in Therapeutic Recreation and her first master’s degree is from The Johns Hopkins University in Health Finance & Management. Prior to her call to ordained ministry, Beth worked in executive leadership positions in several non-profit organizations. A native of Pennsylvania, Rev. Beth has lived in several states including Texas, New York, Maryland, and Arkansas as well as the District of Columbia.

She and her wife, Marla Aizenshtat, are Washington Nationals fans and Lady Terps and Lady Vols basketball fans. They enjoy traveling, kayaking, biking, hiking, and playing Mah Jongg. They are very happy to be back in the area.
